YEZZA
A rockstar catchphrase for an emphatic yes.
If you’ve spent any time in the local music scene, chances are you’ve heard the term “yezza” (or its many variants) uttered by an Aussie muso or roadie – and it’s all thanks to Paul.
Known as the Godfather of Yezza, the ‘yezza’ language started on tour in 1995 with The Sleepy Jackson and has since spawned a life of its own.
Pretty imprezz.
Synonymous with all things good (and occasionally nuzza) yezza best encapsulates the rockstar life: the buzz of performing, loving your life, your mates or good chats, and especially the thrill of rocking out onstage.
Yezza indezza.
So, remember where it came from. Anytime you utter the word yezza, or hear it spoken in passing, give thanks to the godfather.
VIVA LA ROCK’N’ROLL.
